This morning we had our final run....and we rocked it. We got 170 points and we think this places us in the top 10. The most important thing however is that we overtook our local competitor (DAL) when they were beating us by 145 points. We're all very excited to get our total scores and final placing.

Our first run did not go as planned. Our tether was too heavy and got tangled into one of the props at the bottom of the pool. This caused us to lose valuable time and we couldn't completed all of the missions. We are currently 11 out of 26 teams. We believe after fixing our tether we will improve our score dramatically.

Arrived in Hawaii
Well we finally made it to Hawaii. It's been a long trip but we are all in good spirits. Unfortunately we were delayed in Halifax due to fog. This made us miss our Phoenix connection which in turn made us have to stay over night in Phoenix and take the next flight out to Honolulu. But we all arrived safe and sound.
We checked into the dorm Wednesday night got ourselves ready for a long day on Thursday. Yesterday we retrieved our ROV from storage and upon inspecting the ROV we noticed there was some damage to the control box. One of our digital displays was damaged but we have worked around the issue so we can still complete all the mission.
We have our first run today. I will update the blog tonight after we finish.

Thank You Everyone,
Before we take off, in less than 12 hours, I would like to thank everyone that made this project possible. I would like to start with Peter Oster and Glenn Macleod. Both instructors have been with us from the beginning and without their help, this project would not have started. Peter was a huge help with our team fundraising. He believed in our team even after seeing our wooden arm. Glenn was a tremendous asset for our electronic team. His vast knowledge of electronics and easy to understand teaching skills made learning fun. Gordie Macneil, our Electronic Chairman, on behalf of the team thank you. Without your final push at the end, our team would not be in the position it is in today. Your impact on our team began back before the regionals when you made the decision to fund our team shirts. Since then you have been behind us 100% with more funding and helping us organize our trip. Darryl, thank you for showing us the CNC machine and fabricating an amazing solenoid box. I would also like to thank the machining crew. At the crunch you guys came through and made some terrific parts. I would also like to thank all our sponsors. The IT Student Association, RAE, Jentronics, Deep Vision, Lab Volt, Bedford-Liberal MLA Kelly Regan and the NSCC IT Campus. I apologize if I missed one. Last but surely not least, I would like to thank, on behalf of each individual member, all the team members that but in all the extra time after school, on weekends.
